The Christian faith is at the heart of everything we do at St. John’s. In all the learning and life experiences we aim to fulfil our school vision of ‘Love, learn, together we soar.’ Children are known, valued and accepted within a caring community where we aim to live out the Christian faith in all that we do.

In RE children are encouraged to ask deep and searching questions about the meaning of life, about God and about their own faith and beliefs and that of others. They wrestle with the mysteries of life and the answers given by a variety of religions and world views, developing a real sense of what is of value in the world today. They develop their knowledge and understanding of Christianity and other principal world religions showing respect and tolerance of others’ beliefs.

We encourage pupils to communicate effectively while listening to the opinions of others and to challenge prejudice. RE learning experiences aim to create a sense of awe and wonder and to develop compassion, generosity of spirit and empathy that contributes to the wider community.
